Culture Keeper Bio

Alex Locust, aka “Glamputee”, is a drag performer, culture worker, and disability justice educator. Locust credits the trailblazing performance project, Sins Invalid, with inspiring her to flamboyantly embody disability justice on stage, making more and more room for others to join the spotlight. Locust is a regular performer at Clutch the Pearls, a monthly cabaret of drag curiosities dedicated to uplifting BIPOC and trans voices, founder of the LEGacy Ball, featuring an ensemble cast of Black, queer, trans and disabled performers, and co-host of Accessible Futures, the first drag show in San Francisco showcasing performers with disabilities. She was crowned Butch Queen in the 2023 annual drag pageant at the historic Castro Theater. They also lead disability justice trainings. Their work is a continuous love letter to expansive queerness, Black excellence, and crip magic.
